CUSTOM SUITE
DESIGN ALLOWS for rapid customization of the system to meet the
changing needs of a growing business. Much of the power is in simplicity.
The data entry and processing screens are kept simple for easy of
use. Supplementary data is only displayed when needed. The entry
fields are color coded to make it easy for the operator to see which
fields are being edited and which will require input. While a Custom
Suite screen has the usual control buttons on the screen to pop
up selection lists where appropriate, it has the unique power of
Appgen's cross-reference lookup feature. If, for example, you wanted
to enter a customer number and did not want to scroll down a selection
list of several thousand customers, you would enter one or two partial
words from the customer name. The cross-reference search would return
a short selection list showing only those customers that had those
words in their name. This lookup works anyplace in Custom Suite
where information may be selected from a list and greatly speeds
data entry and information retrieval.
Information Retrieval
Information retrieval is the key to making an accounting system
useful and Appgen accounting excels at information retrieval. With
a few clicks and keystrokes the power of these applications to make
any information available is apparent. An inquiry on the status
of a customer account can find any questioned invoice or payment
and bring up the original document for viewing and even reprinting
almost instantly. Even looking up detail on General Ledger accounts
can bring up original checks, invoices and other transactions without
leaving the General Ledger screen.
Multi-Platform
Custom Suite is truly multi-platform. Whatever desktop is used an
any workstation, Windows, Linux or Macintosh, Custom Suite presents
the same, consistent, graphical look and feel to the user. If a
particular workstation is in a location inhospitable to PC type
workstations Custom Suite will also work on a character terminal.
Modules
Applications of Custom Suite include the basic accounting, General
Ledger, Receivables, Payables, Payroll and Bank Reconciliation,
as well as the normal sales related modules, Order Entry, Inventory
and Purchase Order entry. There is also a Billing module for service
oriented business, a Job Cost Tracking module and a multi-level
Bill of Materials. All of the applications in Custom Suite may be
installed together or added individually as needed. Whether installed
together or added one at a time they are always completely integrated
so that data in one module is available to all the others. While
there is a full complement of built-in reports, with the addition
of ODBC connectivity the data in the Custom Suite applications is
available to other applications such as spreadsheets and report
writers for individually customized reporting.
